Purpose of residence: Family Reunification

Required documents (general)

Copy of valid travel document	Mandatory
Bank statement issued by a Hungarian or foreign financial institution concerning the applicant’s bank account about covering the expenses of travel	Mandatory
Statement of leaving the country voluntarily in case of refusal	Mandatory
If the applicant is a minor of limited capacity, Statement from his/her parents or legal guardian translated to Hungarian or English in form of a private or public agreement (providing full evidence) containing the endorsement of legal staying (for the duration of stay) in Hungary	Mandatory
If a representative conducts the procedure, the authorization/power of attorney	Mandatory

Documents verifying the purpose of residence:

In case you’re applying as the child of the person who is residing legally in the territory of Hungary: birth certificate	or
In case you’re applying as the spouse of the person who is residing legally int he terriotry of Hungary: marriage certificate	or
In case you’re applying as a supported parent of the person who is residing legally in the territory of Hungary: birth certificate of that child	or
In case you’re applying as an adopted child of the person who is residing legally in the territory of Hungary: document about adoption
In case you’re applying as a sibling or as a close family relative of the person who is residing legally in the territory of Hungary: legal document about that you’re incapable to fend for yourself due to health issues

Please be advised that submission of the above listed official documents is mandatory in order to verify the purpose of residence. In case the original document(s) was not written in Hungarian, official Hungarian translation is required as well.

Documents can be used as proof of income:

a notarised statement made by the receiving family member promising support to the applicant along with a document in proof of the family member’s ability to provide such support	Mandatory
an income certificate issued by the tax authority for the receiving family member previous year’s income	and/or
an income certificate issued by the employer to the host family member	and/or
the family member’s bank statement of a Hungarian or foreign bank account	and/or
in case you (applicant) have a job, an income certificate issued by the tax authority	and/or
in case you (applicant) have a job, bank statement of a Hungarian or foreign bank	and/or
in case you (applicant) have a job, an income certificate issued by the employer concerning the previous 1 year	and/or
a certificate issued by the employer and/or tax authority as proof of regular income received from abroad.

Please be advised that the above mentioned documents must verify that the applicant and his/her family members are having enough income at disposal for living, residing or leaving Hungary during his/her stay.

Documents proving the existence of Hungarian accommodation:

a residential lease contract in proof of the rental of a residence	Or
a document on accommodation by courtesy	Or
a document in proof of ownership of the residential property, by means of a certified copy of title deed	Or
a notarized statement made by a family member about providing accommodation	Or
documentary evidence to verify the reservation of accommodation and payment	Or
a real estate sales contract and a copy of the decision of the competent Budapest or county government agency granting permission for the acquisition of a real estate property

Please be advised that one of the above mentioned documents must be submitted in order to verify Hungarian accommodation.

Documents proving the existence of comprehensive health insurance:

Copy of Hungarian health insurance card	or
Buisness health insurance entitling you to full health care and a certification confirming the payment of the insurance	or
bank statement about savings covering the health care expenses
