Those third country nationals who lawfully resided in the territory of Hungary continuously for at least the preceding five years before the submission of application or has an EU Blue Card and:

• who has resided legally in the territory of Hungary continuously for at least the preceding 2 years before the application was submitted; and
• who has resided legally in the territory of any Member State of the European Union continuously for at least 5 years.

It does not constitute an interruption of residence in the territory of Hungary:

• Temporary absence from the territory of Hungary less than 6 consecutive months at any given time, if the combined duration of the foreign national’s absence does not exceed 300 days over a period of 5 years and
• Temporary absence from the territory of any Member State of the European Union less than 12 months at any given time, if the combined duration of the foreign national’s absence does not exceed 18 months in a period of 5 years for a holder of an EU Blue Card.
